We serve orphans, widows, and single parents from low-income families. We offer scholarships so that the children can attain an education. Our students are currently in primary and secondary schools in Mukono, Uganda. We believe that by supporting the children to gain quality education, they will not only transform their lives but also their communities, escape poverty, and become self-sufficient.
Our first student graduated from Makerere University. We are so grateful. It is wonderful to see her transformation. She is now self-reliant, actively contributing to not only her family but the community as well.
This year (2024), Instill Hope started a pilot program in which Agribusinesses were set up for some parents, in a bid, to make them financially independent. This project was born out of witnessing the struggles that the parents go through to provide for their children’s needs. Even with school fees, and lunches paid for, students would still miss school. We realized that while we paid for the kids’ tuition, these families still had many unmet needs. We had to strategize, and zero down on businesses that they would undertake that would be profitable so that they can become financially independent. They centered on agribusinesses. Instill Hope provided the funds and financial literacy to kick-start their businesses.
The tenacity and resiliency of both the parents and students have inspired us as well. They have overcome so much adversity. We can feel their optimism when we interact with them. A stark contrast from when we first started collaborating years ago. They can now dream of possibilities.
It is amazing what support can do to someone. It is like planting a mustard seed that grows into a remarkable tree with plenty of seeds for everybody. So, together, let us rebuild and transform lives, one life at a time.
